Through child sponsorship, donors make a direct impact, providing school supplies, meals, medical care and mentorship to children in need.
We’re thrilled to share how our 20 scholarship recipients in Uganda have grown, achieved, and overcome in the past year—thanks to your continued support. This year, our scholars have made remarkable strides in both academics and vocational training. From bustling classrooms in Kampala to hands-on workshops in Jinja, these resilient young adults are charting new paths forward. Several of our students are now pursuing diplomas in fields like nursing, electrical installation, mechanics, and business administration—areas with strong potential for employment in Uganda's growing job market. One shining example is Grace, who completed her first year in nursing school with flying colors. She’s currently doing her clinical rotations at a local health center, where she’s already earning praise for her compassionate care. Then there's Peter, who enrolled in a vocational carpentry program and recently helped build desks for a nearby primary school—giving back to the community that once supported him. Beyond academics, our scholarship program has provided mentorship and emotional support—an essential element for youth without family to lean on. Regular check-ins, workshops on life skills, and peer support circles have helped students stay grounded and connected. Our team also facilitated health care access, ensuring scholars were not held back by preventable illnesses or lack of basic needs. Living costs like transport, rent, and meals can be difficult for students in Uganda, especially those without any family safety net. Thanks to your generosity, our scholars had the support they needed to focus on their studies instead of worrying about their next meal. As we aim to raise $18,000 this year to continue supporting these 20 incredible young people, we’re inviting you to help us keep the momentum going. Whether through a recurring monthly donation or a one-time gift, every dollar goes directly toward tuition, mentorship, supplies, and healthcare. $75 a month covers a full scholarship. As the school year draws to a close at New Dawn Academy, we are filled with gratitude and pride for all that our students have accomplished. It has been a year of growth, learning, and transformation—made possible by the unwavering support of our sponsors, donors, and dedicated team. Throughout the year, our classrooms buzzed with curiosity and determination as students tackled new subjects, built friendships, and grew not just academically, but emotionally and socially. Thanks to the generous contributions from our supporters, every child at New Dawn Academy had access to the essentials they needed to succeed—school fees, uniforms, supplies, and so much more. But education at New Dawn goes beyond books and exams. Our holistic approach meant that children received healthcare when needed, social workers conducted regular home visits, and each student was met with the care and encouragement they deserve. In a world where many of our students face daily challenges, the stability and hope they find at school make all the difference.
