The women involved in our Empowering Women project are destitute and have at-risk children or grandchildren in their care. Donating to this cause will not only help provide them with a life of hope and dignity, but will begin to lift them and their family out of the chronic cycle of poverty.
As part of our project, these women will receive an education that includes vocational training and a micro-grant for their trade business. Common examples in our area are farming, stitching, jewelry making, weaving and selling produce from their gardens. The training will help increase their confidence, improve their livelihood and provide many growth opportunities.
Our goal is to see these women start to feel empowered and hopeful for a better future, helping to lift their families and communities out of the chronic cycle of poverty.
Women are more likely than men to reinvest their income to help improve their family's welfare.
This is why this project is so important to us. Investing in a woman will not only provide for her, but will truly provide for generations to come. What better way to help end poverty?
Many of these women come from rural areas and are largely uneducated. Most are widowed and have multiple children of their own, or grandchildren, in their care.
Most also live on less than $2 a day, live in a small home sharing beds and with little resources.
Once chosen for our program, we take a holistic approach to their complex problem of poverty.
First, we focus on her family. Are they receiving adequate nutrition and healthcare? Do they need emergency relief of any kind? To help stabilize her family, your donation will go towards an initial gift to make sure food is available and any medical needs are addressed.
Second, we get her involved in training. We learn her interests, unique abilities and her available resources. We have teams that will meet with her on a regular basis (often weekly) and then have international teams that come throughout the year. Our training addresses not only her future business but also her personal life, family life, community life and spiritual life. Our goal is to truly support her and help her as a whole person.
Third, we help her start her business or join meaningful work. Your gifts are used to provide micro-grants that will help these women start their small business to benefit her family and community. We've also learned that not every woman can start her own business but for various reasons would benefit more from joining meaningful work already started. Microgrants vary in amount due to the various businesses available.
Fourth, we connect. Women truly working together is incredible to witness. By connecting these women together, they can share their experiences, learning from one another and hopefully are eventually able to not have to rely on first-world funding but can grow individually and together to be self-sustaining and self-supporting.
Lastly, we help her lead. In what areas can she lead her community? Can she eventually train other women? We help her build her confidence and empower her to train and lead others to follow in her footsteps.
Thank you so much for your support. We believe in these women and knowing you do too, means the world. Let's help end the chronic cycle of poverty together!

Her two daughters and the three grandchildren who live with her will be helping. Praise God for this blessing and this will bring in much needed funds for her family. Tania, with her generous heart, already plans to share these funds to help other women in our program.
