Guatemala is a country rich in culture, history, and natural beauty, yet many of its communities face the daily challenges of poverty, limited access to education, and unstable employment. To meet these needs, our nonprofit established an orphanage in Sololá to provide a safe and nurturing home for children who have been abandoned, orphaned, or come from families unable to provide adequate care. At our orphanage, children receive not only food, shelter, and education but also love and hope for a brighter future. In addition to child sponsorships offered directly through the orphanage, which allow donors to support the care and education of an individual child, we also run Mission: Guatemala—a project designed to empower rural women with access to microloans so they can invest in sewing, livestock, looms, and gardening, building sustainable livelihoods for their families and communities.
